Our History
At 63, our founder, Claude Stratford started making and selling a range of bee products from the basement in his home. His vision was “to care for the community, producing natural products that work and acting in a way which preserves the environment for generations to come’”. Two years later in 1976, Alan Bougen, became Claude’s business partner. Pioneers ahead of their time, Claude and Alan set out to change people’s perceptions of natural health.
Our Origin Our origin is New Zealand, a place blessed with unique natural advantages. We believe it is the key to finding new ways to go beyond the expected. We are defined by fresh, unrestrained thinking which comes from people who see things differently at the edge of the world.

UMF Manuka Honey
Comvita is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of premium quality UMF® Manuka honey.
UMF® Manuka honey has gained a worldwide reputation for its value in digestive health, skincare and woundcare. Laboratory studies have shown that UMF® Manuka honey is effective against a wide range of very resistant bacteria.
UMF® stands for ‘Unique Manuka Factor’, a measure of the unique type of antibacterial activity which is naturally present at varying levels in honey made from the nectar of the Manuka bush (Leptospernum Scoparium), native to New Zealand.

Olive Leaf Complex
